Train
The closest station is Circular Quay but from 3pm trains will not be dropping off passengers. If you’re arriving after 3pm, use Wynyard train Station or Martin Place metro station and continue on foot.
Metro
The closest station is Martin Place, continue on foot.
Light rail
Light rail services will run to Town Hall only from 2pm.
Bus
Buses will relocate to Martin Place from 2pm and Hyde Park from 5pm. Continue on foot to the harbour via George Street.
Taxi
Major roads in Circular Quay close from 2pm with some earlier morning closures in place. Plan ahead if catching taxis or rideshare.
Getting home
- Pedestrian diversions will be in place on New Year’s Eve. The way you leave may be different to how you arrived. Be prepared for a longer walk to transport hubs.

Light rail services to the south-east will leave from Central only after 7pm.
Bus
Buses that usually run from Circular Quay will operate from Hyde Park.
Ferry
Limited ferries will run from Circular Quay after the fireworks to Manly and Lower North Shore wharves only.
