Open in Google MapsA number of police roadblocks will be in place around the Zoo. Roadblocks will require a Zoo NYE car park ticket (available to pre pre-purchase). To avoid issues car park ticket holders should arrive from Prince Albert Street.
Transport options
Getting here
- Attendees are encouraged to leave the car at home, on-site and nearby street parking is very limited.
- Some road closures will be in place for general traffic. See the road closure map and real-time traffic updates at livetraffic.com
- The public bus that meets the ferry at Taronga Wharf will not be running up to the Zoo entrance due to Police Road closures.
- Walking up from Taronga’s wharf is not recommended.
- There is no access into the Zoo from the Lower Entrance
Bus
Buses operate regularly towards Taronga Zoo.
Ferry
Ferries operate regularly towards Taronga Zoo. Last ferry to the Zoo leaves Circular Quay at 4:52pm.
Getting home
- Pedestrian diversions are in place on New Year’s Eve. The way you arrive, may be different to how you get home. Be prepared for a longer walk to transport hubs.
Bus
Buses will run regularly from Taronga Zoo towards Military Road where you can connect with other bus services.
Ferry
After the fireworks limited ferries to Circular Quay will leave Taronga Zoo wharf at 12:54am and 1:54am.
